We’ve grown considerably these past few years under our new inspirational conductor, Peter Gambie. Singers of all parts are very welcome in particular Tenors and Basses.

The Choir meets on Mondays, 7.15–9.30pm at St James Road Methodist Church Hall, Southampton SO15 5HE.

The Society contributes to the musical life of the city by performing a wide range of music and being involved in civic events. Our repertoire ranges from the great works of Bach, Haydn and Mozart to modern classics by Rutter and Lauridsen, along with music from stage and screen.

The choir employs professional orchestras and soloists and is embarking on bringing international stars to the city: for instance Dame Emma Kirkby has previously sung with the Society for a programme of Mozart and Haydn in 2011.

The Society has established close links with the City Music Service, sponsoring a young musician each year and working with the Youth Orchestra and Choir.
